eSIM Compatible Xiaomi, Redmi & POCO Phones: Full List (2026)

By eSIMRated Editorial Team|Updated May 29, 2026|Last verified May 29, 2026

Xiaomi supports eSIM on the 12T Pro (its first eSIM phone, 2022), the 13 series (13, 13T, 13T Pro, 13 Pro, 13 Ultra), the 14 series (14, 14T, 14T Pro, 14 Pro, 14 Ultra), the 15 series (15, 15 Pro, 15 Ultra), the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Note 13 Pro+ 5G, and the POCO F6 and F6 Pro. Every one of them needs Global ROM firmware, because China ROM disables eSIM at the system level with no workaround. Budget Redmi and POCO models below the Note 13 Pro tier have no eSIM hardware at all. On a Global ROM device, any data-only travel plan installs, including plans from Nomad, GigSky and HelloRoam.

Xiaomi has been gradually adding eSIM support across its product range, starting with select flagship models and expanding to some Redmi and POCO devices. As of 2026, eSIM is available on the Xiaomi 12T Pro, the full 13 and 14 and 15 series, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and the POCO F6 Pro. The most important thing to know about Xiaomi eSIM is that firmware matters more than hardware.

Phones running China ROM have eSIM disabled regardless of hardware capability, and MIUI (now HyperOS) sometimes hides the eSIM settings menu behind non-obvious navigation paths. This guide lists every confirmed Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO model with eSIM support and explains the firmware and settings pitfalls you need to avoid.

What you need to know before buying

China ROM Firmware Completely Disables eSIM

This is the single most important thing to understand about Xiaomi eSIM. Xiaomi ships two fundamentally different firmware versions: Global ROM (for international markets) and China ROM (for mainland China). China ROM disables eSIM at the system level, and no amount of menu navigation, hidden settings, or developer options will enable it.

If you purchased your Xiaomi phone in mainland China, imported it from a Chinese retailer, or bought a "China version" from a third-party seller, your phone almost certainly runs China ROM and will not support eSIM. You can check your firmware by going to Settings > About phone > MIUI version (or HyperOS version). Global ROM versions include a region code like "GLOBAL" or a country identifier like "EEA" (European Economic Area) or "IN" (India).

China ROM versions show "CN" or no region code. Flashing from China ROM to Global ROM is technically possible on some models but voids your warranty, risks bricking the device, and is not recommended.

MIUI and HyperOS Hide the eSIM Settings Menu on Some Models

Even on phones with confirmed eSIM support running Global ROM, finding the eSIM activation menu can be surprisingly difficult. On MIUI 14 and earlier, the eSIM option is often buried under Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks > tap on an empty SIM slot > select "eSIM" at the bottom of the screen. On HyperOS 1.0 (Xiaomi's newer OS), the path is typically Settings > Mobile networks > SIM management > Add eSIM.

On some models, the "Add eSIM" option only appears after you remove one of the physical SIM cards from the tray, because the system requires a free SIM slot. If you cannot find the eSIM menu, try removing one physical SIM card, rebooting the phone, and then checking Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks again. You can also search "eSIM" in the Settings search bar, though this does not always surface the correct menu on older MIUI versions.

Not All Regional Variants of the Same Model Support eSIM

Xiaomi releases multiple regional variants of each phone model, and eSIM support is not guaranteed across all of them. For example, the Xiaomi 14 sold in Europe (EEA variant) has confirmed eSIM support, but the same phone sold in India or Southeast Asia may ship without eSIM enabled in the firmware. Xiaomi does not maintain a comprehensive public list of which regional variants include eSIM.

The safest approach is to verify on your actual device by checking Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks for an eSIM or "Download SIM" option. When purchasing a Xiaomi phone specifically for eSIM use, buy from an official Xiaomi retailer in your region and confirm eSIM is listed in the specifications for your specific variant.

Budget Redmi and POCO Models Mostly Lack eSIM

While the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and POCO F6 Pro are notable exceptions, the vast majority of Redmi and POCO phones do not support eSIM. Models like the Redmi Note 13, Redmi 13, Redmi A3, POCO M6, POCO C65, and POCO X6 all lack eSIM hardware entirely. Xiaomi has been selective about which mid-range and budget devices receive eSIM, and there is no clear pattern for which models get it.

Always verify the specific model rather than assuming a product line includes eSIM. If eSIM is a priority and you are shopping in the budget range, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is currently the most affordable Xiaomi-family option with confirmed eSIM support.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if my Xiaomi phone supports eSIM?+

Go to Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks and look for an "eSIM" or "Add eSIM" option. If it does not appear, try removing one physical SIM card from the tray and rebooting. You can also dial *#06# to check for an EID (eSIM identifier) number. If no EID appears, your device either lacks eSIM hardware or has it disabled by firmware. Remember that China ROM variants will never show eSIM options regardless of hardware.

Does the Xiaomi 14 support travel eSIM providers?+

Yes, the Xiaomi 14 supports eSIM on Global ROM variants (EEA, Global, and select regional firmware). You can install travel eSIMs from providers like Ubigi, Holafly and Nomad by scanning a QR code through Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks > Add eSIM. If your Xiaomi 14 runs China ROM, eSIM will not work and there is no software fix.

How do I know if my Xiaomi has Global ROM or China ROM?+

Go to Settings > About phone > MIUI version (or HyperOS version). Xiaomi ships 2 firmware families, and only the Global one exposes eSIM. Global ROM carries a region tag such as GLOBAL, EEA (Europe) or IN (India). China ROM shows CN or no tag at all. The model number on the same screen tells you too: a /GL or /EEA suffix means global, and /CN or no suffix means China.

Can the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G use a travel eSIM?+

Yes, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G supports eSIM on Global ROM variants. It is one of the most affordable phones in the Xiaomi ecosystem with eSIM capability. Install a travel eSIM by going to Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks > Add eSIM and scanning the QR code from your provider. Make sure you have the Global or EEA firmware version, not the China ROM.

Why can I not find the eSIM option in my Xiaomi settings?+

Four reasons cover almost every case. (1) Your phone runs China ROM, which disables eSIM entirely. (2) Your regional variant ships without eSIM in its firmware. (3) Both nano-SIM slots are full, and the system needs 1 free slot before it shows the option, so remove a card and reboot. (4) The menu moved between MIUI and HyperOS. Search eSIM in Settings, or tap an empty slot under SIM cards & mobile networks.

Does the POCO F6 Pro support eSIM?+

Yes. The POCO F6 Pro supports eSIM on Global ROM firmware. It offers eSIM alongside a dual nano-SIM tray, so you can keep your home carrier in the physical slot and add a travel eSIM for data abroad. The POCO F6 (non-Pro) also supports eSIM on select Global ROM variants, but verify availability for your specific regional model.

Can I flash Global ROM onto my China ROM Xiaomi to enable eSIM?+

Some Xiaomi models allow cross-flashing from China ROM to Global ROM with the Mi Flash Tool or TWRP recovery. The flash voids your warranty, can lock the bootloader for good, and bricks devices. Even a clean flash leaves eSIM unproven, because provisioning differs at the hardware level between the 2 variants. Buy a Global ROM unit from an authorized retailer instead.

Does the Xiaomi 15 series support eSIM?+

Yes. The Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro and 15 Ultra all support eSIM on Global ROM firmware. All 3 store up to 5 eSIM profiles and keep a dual nano-SIM tray, so you have 2 physical slots plus 1 active eSIM. HyperOS 2.0 puts the setup at Settings > Mobile networks > SIM management > Add eSIM, a shorter path than older MIUI builds took. Scan the QR code there.

What is the cheapest Xiaomi phone that supports eSIM?+

As of 2026, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is the most affordable Xiaomi-family phone with confirmed eSIM support. It runs on Global ROM firmware and uses the same eSIM activation process as the flagship Xiaomi 14 and 15 series. The POCO F6 (non-Pro) also supports eSIM on select Global ROM variants and is similarly priced. Neither the Redmi Note 13 (standard, non-Pro) nor any current Redmi A or POCO M or POCO C series phones support eSIM.

How many eSIM profiles can a Xiaomi phone store?+

All confirmed eSIM-capable Xiaomi models store up to 5 eSIM profiles simultaneously, including the Xiaomi 12T Pro, all 13 series, all 14 series, all 15 series, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G, and POCO F6 series. You can install multiple travel eSIMs from different providers and switch between them in Settings without deleting previous profiles. Only one eSIM can be active as a data source at a time alongside a physical SIM card.
