Corrections & Updates
eSIMRated has published 11 corrections since May 2026, covering pricing data, coverage counts, app scores, refund-policy wording, and five earlier corrections that we have now withdrawn or narrowed because they were wrong or too broad. We correct errors within 48 hours of discovery.
We correct errors promptly and transparently. This page documents significant changes to our ratings, pricing data, and coverage information.
Our commitment: When we discover an error in our data, ratings, or editorial content, we correct it within 48 hours and document the change here. We do not silently edit pages.
Correction log
The entries below represent significant corrections to published content. Minor wording edits, routine price re-checks, and layout improvements are not logged here. When a correction we published turns out to be wrong, we withdraw it here in public rather than deleting it.
Speed tests now feed the Speed category. We still publish no raw Mbps.
eSIMRated now includes speed tests in the Speed category score. We still do not run a four-device lab, do not run buying trips to 20 destinations, and do not publish a raw Mbps figure for any provider, because a single headline rate hides destination and time-of-day variation. The withdrawn September claims about a hardware lab and invented throughput ranges stay withdrawn. The Speed score is an editorial 0-5 rating. HelloRoam currently leads that category at 4.8/5, the highest of 18 providers.
Our July 2026 correction on HelloRoam’s money-back guarantee was itself too broad.
That entry said we held no verified refund data for any provider, and that our claim about HelloRoam’s 180-day money-back guarantee had been removed. Both statements were wrong. HelloRoam’s 180-day window on an unactivated eSIM is stated in its own published refund terms (https://www.helloroam.com/refund, checked 27 May 2026), and that single-provider fact stayed on our HelloRoam review the whole time; it was never removed. Only the superlative built on top of it, that HelloRoam’s window was the longest of the providers we review, was correctly withdrawn: Holafly publishes the same 180-day window, so the two tie. Buyers in the EU, EEA and UK also keep a separate 14-day statutory withdrawal right under consumer law, on top of whichever provider’s own window applies.
Restated this site as an independent editorial review publication, and withdrew the four-device lab claims.
Rankings, trust pages and structured data now describe eSIMRated as an independent review site. Affiliate commissions stay disclosed on every page. Our methodology page separately described a four-device test lab, plans bought at retail and buying trips to 20 destinations. Those lab and buying-trip claims were withdrawn: we run no four-device lab and no 20-destination buying programme, and we buy none of the plans we score. A later September 2026 entry records that speed tests now feed the 0-5 Speed score. We still publish no raw Mbps.
Withdrawn: our July 2026 correction to the HelloRoam per-GB rate was itself wrong.
That entry said HelloRoam's 10 GB plan costs $19.99, which works out at $2.00 per gigabyte, and on that basis it removed our claim that HelloRoam led on cost per gigabyte. No 10 GB plan at $19.99 exists in our pricing data, for any of the 185 destinations we hold prices for. HelloRoam's 10 GB plans start at $8.26, which is $0.83 per gigabyte, against Saily at $18.99 and Airalo at $26.00. The ranking we removed was right at that floor, and the figure we published to justify removing it was not a price anyone can buy. Read $8.26 as a floor rather than a typical price: HelloRoam's median 10 GB plan costs $26.10, so the ranking still moves with the destination. We are withdrawing the July entry rather than editing it away.
Withdrawn: our May 2026 entry about the Airalo app score was wrong.
We published a correction saying we had changed the Airalo app score from 4.6 to 4.4. No such change was ever applied, and neither figure appears in our provider database. Airalo scores 4.7 out of 5 on app quality in our review, and it has held that score throughout. We are withdrawing the earlier entry rather than editing it away.
Withdrawn: our May 2026 entry about Holafly 10-day unlimited pricing was wrong.
We published a correction saying the Holafly 10-day unlimited plan had been repriced at $39. That change was never applied, and $39 does not appear anywhere in our pricing data. Holafly's 10-day unlimited plan is listed at $34.00, which is the price our pages have always shown. We are withdrawing the earlier entry.
Withdrawn: our May 2026 entry about Nomad coverage was wrong.
We published a correction saying we had cut the Nomad coverage count to 165 countries after a network partner audit. Neither 165 nor the 170 it was said to replace appears in our provider database. Nomad covers 120 countries in our data, and our Nomad pages show that figure. We are withdrawing the earlier entry.
Removed app store review counts and app store ratings we could not verify.
Our comparison FAQs and the machine-readable files we publish for AI assistants carried app store review counts and store ratings for Airalo, Holafly and Saily. We do not collect app store review data, so those figures had no source. They have been removed. The app scores we do publish are our own editorial scores, from the App Quality category described in our methodology.
Withdrew the claim that HelloRoam offers a 180-day money-back guarantee.
We stated that HelloRoam has the longest money-back guarantee of the providers we review. Refund windows are not one of the five things we test, and we hold no verified refund data for any provider. The claim has been removed rather than restated. Check the provider's own terms before you buy.
Replaced the weekly pricing verification claim with cadence-neutral wording.
We had described our pricing as verified weekly. Our last full price check was 22 May 2026, so that cadence was not accurate. We no longer promise a cadence at all. Every page now prints the date its pricing was last checked, read from the pricing snapshot itself rather than typed by hand, so the stamp cannot outrun the data behind it.
Removed all deals and promo code pages. Redirected to best-esim hub.
We published a set of deals and promo code pages that we were unable to keep current with sufficient accuracy. Rather than maintain pages with potentially stale discount codes, we removed them. Both /deals and every /deals/[provider] URL now return a permanent redirect to our best-esim comparison hub, which presents current verified pricing.
